Will Maca Root regulate periods?

me and my partner are trying to conceive our second child (we have a 13month old daughter) and I have very irregular periods, I haven't had a period in months (september 2011 was my last period) and when af does decide to turn up she is heavy and lasts for about 2/3 days.
I have heard a few things about Maca root and just wondered if maca root will help regulate my cycle??

Thanks for your help ladies and lots of sticky babydust to you all x

I don't think Maca root will.. I take it and it's supposed to improve fertility.. But I also take vitex which is supposed to regulate! Good luck!

Thank you so very much ladies for your advice, I live in the UK so I've been researching online where I can buy Vitex, would this be it ? http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=3876&prodid=4523&sid=0

the link is from a well known herbal shop in the UK.
Thanks again ladies. Good luck to you all x
