36 weeks- induce labor naturally

Hello! I'm 36w4d. So done being preggers. It would be great to have the babes around 38-39 weeks. Any personal success stories of inducing naturally?

I've been drinking red raspberry leaf tea (2-5cups per day) since week 30. Also, my prenata's have it. I started taking evening primrose oil around 33 weeks and for the first time tonight inserted vaginally.

This is my first baby and no women in my family have a history of being early:(

I'm currently pretty active, light walking and swimming almost everyday. I also have had Braxton hicks regularly since about 28-29 weeks. Been much much stronger lately...

Please give me tips, stories, signs of labor. Thank you!!!

Your baby will come when it's ready. The last weeks can be hard but when the time is right your body will know it. I'd suggest just keeping busy and trying to find ways to pass time and getting good nights sleep. Also try to get out with hubby for some 1 to 1 time. X

I was 41+2 when I gave birth but had no signs of labour at all until the day of the birth, which was a bloody show!

Also when I went into early labour at 36 weeks they had to give me steroid injections for baby lungs ad discussed that he most prob would be in neo natal unit. Very scary. Thankfully it stopped and I went to 39+4 with him. Hang in there you'll have your baby when time is right x

I'm not trying to force my body into labor! Red raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose oil are natural remedies that aid your body to prepare for labor. They won't induce labor if baby isn't ready

Of course I'm not trying to do anything unsafe! Maybe I should have reworded my question. Did anyone use these herbs or other natural techniques and found that they had an easier/quicker labor?

Thanks!

Jess I'm with you... I'm 37 weeks and have been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a week now, wish had started earlier. On Saturday I started acupuncture for induction, it's also natural and not invasive it prepares your body for labor and helps inducing ONLY if baby is ready.

Have you read about castor oil? It's another option, I'm just not ready for it yet.

I didn't use anything but only coz I was worried that I'm pushing my baby out before she was ready but that's just me! Loads of women use these remedies and all their babies are fine :) x

Natiemel- thanks for the response! I have heard of castor oil, but personally won't use it. It's not an herb and it doesn't aid your reproductive organs in any way. It's a laxative that causes a lot of cramping. Personally, I do not want to have a painful bowel movement!

My doctor told me that acupuncture and accupressure are safe. I may start doing that, if nothing else to help with my swelling, aches, and back pain. Let me know if you hear of any other tricks!

Good luck

Yeah I know how you feel!! With my last I was in tears I was so over it! I went 6 days over.

As far as I'm concerned all the ways to induce labor are old wives tales... (or unsafe) though I did want to give accupuncture a try... Though not convinced it actually works.

It doesn't make you selfish or a bad mum by being sick of being pregnant either... At the end of the day most people just don't want to go OVER due rather than setting out to have a premature baby...
